NotchIT has 3 main strategic scientific objectives:
1. To advance basic knowledge of Notch signalling mechanisms through the dissection of key aspects of the Notch signalling pathway, construction of a state-of-the-art molecular tool box for Notch signalling and dissemination of this knowledge and reagents at a pan-European level;
2. To understand the role of Notch signalling in the differentiation and pathology of various cell types with the purpose of improving our means to steer stem cell differentiation to desired cell fate and to intervene with aberrant Notch signalling in pathology. Integration between Notch and other major signalling pathways will also be addressed in this objective;
3. To develop new approaches to exogenous control of Notch signalling through pharmacological means, in order to break new ground and to finally design new diagnostic and therapeutic protocols |
